Handmade insoles: true craftsmanship, made to measure
More and more insoles are milled by machine or 3D-printed from a scan. At Podologie Benerink we still make every insole by hand – layer by layer, and adjusted during fitting until it is exactly right. That is why clients come to our practices in Twente from all over the Netherlands and from Germany.

Why handmade?
- Thin and light: we build the insole from thin cork elements, so it is as thin as possible and also fits shoes for which a milled insole is too thick.
- Adjusted during fitting: an insole built by hand can be adjusted on the spot during fitting, to the millimetre.
- Made for your shoes: the insole is adapted as much as possible to the shoes you like to wear – from sneakers and heels to work shoes, rubber boots and even clogs.
- Craftsmanship since 1998: Wim Benerink started out as a shoemaker and has been a registered podiatrist since 1998. He passes this craft on to his daughters Willeke (registered podiatrist) and Elke.

How we make your insoles
- Consultation and examination – we discuss your complaints and examine your feet, posture and gait.
- Imprint – we take an imprint of your feet to record their shape and pressure points.
- Built by hand – the insole is built up layer by layer from cork and other materials where needed.
- Grinding and finishing – we grind the insole to fit your shoe and finish it with a top cover in the colour of your choice.
- Fitting and follow-up – we fit and fine-tune the insole; a follow-up check within 6 months is included.

For which complaints?
Handmade insoles help with complaints caused by foot posture or loading, such as heel spur, flat feet, high arches, forefoot pain, hallux valgus and knee pain. We also make children’s insoles and certified work insoles. See the overview of foot complaints.
